SS 1936 chained dagger with nickel-silver plated fittings.
Price: SOLD
This dagger has survived in untouched condition, by no means a mint condition example, but a nice unmolested textbook example of the type 2 chained SS. The dagger retains a fine black ebony grip in perfect condition with the earlier nickel-silver eagle/swastika motif. The unmarked blade has survived in very good overall condition, still nice and bright but with some areas of light greying. Luckily the greying remains at that stage and hasn't moved on to become pitting. The worse areas of greying
is to be found by the 'S' in 'heist' and is caused by long term storage with dry runners. The dagger has the typical type
2 nickel-silver plated chains with the nicely impressed Runes with octagon to the reverse. The black anodised scabbard has survived well, with 90% original finish remaining. The bottom ball remains perfect. All the nickle-silver plated fittings have age patina and a little lifting in places and no attempt has been made to polish the dagger in anyway.
