A good scarce example of an early SA Pommern NCO's kepi
Price: SOLD
Always rare to find is the Pommern Gruppe kepi with the apple green colour band. This particular example is an early 'crusher' style kepi often attributed to the 'years of Struggle' as it could easily be folded and tucked away out of sight, if this was the prudent thing to do. Finished in typical SA brown cotton material and with the apple green wool colour band, the kepi retains black/white piping for NCO, along with the M1929 eagle/swastika and gilt button. The interior has a plain grey cotton lining with a
brown leather sweatband. This kepi was originally acquired by author David Littlejohn from SA specialist, Andrew Walker, during the 1970s, and featured within his Osprey book on the SA. The kepi was traded with ULRIC of ENGLAND in the early 1980s and sold to headwear specialist, Len Champion. Since Champion's recent death, this kepi along with many other items of headwear have been acquired indirectly from the estate. The kepi is photographed in colour within Bender's Headwear of Hitler's Germany Volume 3,
