Stunning Godet manufactured Prussian court mounted medal group with matching miniatures

Group consists of the 1914 Iron Cross 2nd Class, 1914-18 Cross of Honour with Swords, Prussian Red Cross medal in Gold, Prussian twenty year Long Service Cross. The set of medals are beautifully court mounted and set to an angle, with a fine grey doeskin to the reverse. The group is sold complete with a particularly fine set of the corresponding miniatures, mounted to a gold chain and with a 'Godet' marked button hole fixing. The set survives in close to mint pristine condition and
is of the highest quality.

A superb example of a combined 1914-18 Iron Cross First Class and Second Class contained within a high quality period Patriotic special presentation case of issue.

Both examples of the Iron Cross survive in close to mint condition and are retained within this particularly high quality Patriotic case. The case and sides have an imitation brown suede like appearence, and the roof has a complete Iron Cross 2nd Class with ribbon impressed. This would appear to be a special single pressing manufactured for these cases. The interior is lined and fitted out in black velvet to accept the Iron Cross awards, and the interior roof has a printed Iron Cross
logo. By far the most elaborate Patriotic case we have encountered so far. Sold with a Niemann Expertise.

A good combat used example of an Iron Cross 1st Class 1914-18. Much of the black paint finish has worn away from the centre (30% remaining) and the silver frame shows much age darkening. Reverse has the typical flat tapered vertical pin arrangement.

A special presentation cased Iron Cross 2nd Class 1914-1918

Amongst the various special presentation issues of the First World War Iron Cross 2nd Class, this must be one of the most beautiful. The case is made from fine olive wood (similar to Faberge cases from the period) and has a fine replica of the Iron Cross motif to the lid. The interior is fitted to take the Iron cross in blue velvet, and has the roof lined in blue silk. The Iron Cross is of the highest quality with a silver frame and is maker marked to the ring. The case and cross
have survived in mint condition. A very nice addition to any Iron Cross collection.

A special presentation cased Iron Cross 2nd Class 1914-1918

Amongst the various special presentation issues of the First World War Iron Cross 2nd Class, this is one of the most sought after. The case is finished with a covering depicting an oakleaves pattern and has a fine replica of the Iron Cross motif to the lower corner. A lift out cream velvet interior pad is fitted to take the Iron cross, and the ribbon is placed underneath the pad. The Iron Cross is of the highest quality with a silver frame and is maker marked to the ring. The
case and cross have survived in mint condition. A very nice addition to any Iron Cross collection.

An excellent near mint example of the Prussian OR/NCO belt and buckle. The leather is still very subtle and shows just light use only. The leather bears a full maker name and Berlin address along with 1915 date. The leather is also impressed with letters showing the owner to have been with a Jäger regiment.

A fine spelter head & shoulders bust of Generalfeldmarshall Moltke

Manufactured around 1916-1925, this is a very nice study of Moltke, bearing a superb likeness, and with marvellous attention to all detail, such as his picklehaube. The reverse of the bust bears an impressed makers name. The bust is mounted to a fine black ebony turned wood base and even retains its original brown velvet base finisher. A very nice display item, standing approximately 12" high, and which has been kept by myself since the late 1970s.

A beerstein to Gefreiter Schrön from Artillery Regiment 5

An excellent example of stein to an artillery man with hand finishing throughout, including name panel with all the names of Schrön's unit. Stein has the typical metal top with canon finial, interior base of the stein has the picture image when held to the light, in this instance a wife and daughter reading a letter sent from the front line.
