Extremely rare copy of the SS 'Family' book, 'Die Gestaltung der Feste im Jahres=und Lebenslauf in der SS=Familie'

Price: £1250

An extremely rare example of the famous SS 'Family' book 'Die Gestaltung der Feste im Jahres=und Lebenslauf in der SS=Familie' published by SS-Obergruppenführer Weitzel. The black board covered book details how an SS family should conduct their life, describing the procedure for events such as weddings, funerals and various yearly events. The SS dagger was instrumental to many of these procedures and as such it would make an excellent artifact to have together with your SS dagger. ULRIC of ENGLAND brought out an English translation of this book which is sold together with this original.

Extremely rare SS 1933 pattern Eickhorn dagger with full Himmler dedication from the personal collection of American dagger collector, Gailen David

The blade retains 99% original polish and crossgrain, and the finely etched dedication remains 100% clear and still retains most blacking, as does the SS motto. Scabbard is complete with a black leather vertical hanger and retains 99% of the black anodised finish, along with 70% original laquer. The dagger is sold complete with a full letter of authenticity from Gailen David.

Extremely rare SS 1933 pattern Eickhorn dagger with full Himmler dedication

Price: SOLD

A very nice example of the full Himmler dedication SS 1933 pattern dagger. The dagger has survived in excellent condition and has full nickel-silver mounts throughout as expected. The ebony grip is free from any splits although a couple of small dents are visible. The lower crossguard bears the Eickhorn benchmark number '2' and the blade retains most of its original polish and crossgrain. The finely etched dedication remains 100% clear and still retains most blacking, as does the SS motto. Scabbard is complete and has much of its original black anodised finish. A very hard dagger to find. Provenance: The dagger was purchased from an American flea market during the 1960s by the well known US collector, Don Woods. The dagger was purchased direct from Don Wood.

Extremely rare maker SS 1933 pattern dagger by Ed.Gembruch, Solingen

Price: £4750

Without a doubt, the Ed.Gembruch (so-called 'fish maker') 33 pattern dagger is the hardest of the known SS makers to find (bar the impossible Louper maker). This example survives in excellent to near mint condition. The black ebony grip is free from any cracks or splits and remains nicely fitted to the solid nickel-silver upper and lower cross guards. The blade retains 99% polish and crossgrain (free from any unslighlty pitting or ugly blemishes). The motto is beautifully sharp and the reverse bears the Ed.Gembruch fish logo along with the company name. The scabbard retains its original black anodised finish along with a good 90% of the original top laquer coat. The scabbard mounts have survived in excellent condition (slight knock on bottom ball).

Provenance: This dagger was acquired by a Swedish citizen who went on an European tour in 1948, and brought it back home as one of various souvenirs of his trip. Unfortunately how and where he actually acquired the dagger isn't known, and the family only remember it was brought back by him in 1948. The dagger was never cleaned throughout his ownership, and remains in a delightful uncleaned state to this day.

SS 1936 chained dagger with nickel-silver fittings.

Price: SOLD

This dagger has survived in very good to excellent untouchedcondition, a good textbook example of the type 1 chained SS. The dagger retains a fine black ebony grip with the earlier nickel-silver eagle/swastika motif. The grip has two small chips to the lower section, one on the obverse and one on the reverse, there is also a small split to the ebony grip from the obverse base, but this remains complete. The unmarked blade has survived in very good to excellent condition, nice and bright and free from any areas of unsightly pitting or greying. In fact much of the original crossgrain is still visible !  The dagger has the typical type 1 nickel-silver plated chains with the nicely impressed Runes with octagon to the  reverse. The black anodised scabbard survives with approximately 80% anodised finish, and the bottom ball remains in good condition, with just a minute knock on the absolute base of the ball.. All the nickle-silver plated fittings have survived well, and the detail to the links is superb. A very nice example of a chained SS dagger, and priced sensibly.

SS 1936 chained dagger with nickel-silver plated fittings (Provenance back to 1945).

Price: SOLD

This dagger has survived in untouched overall very good to excellent condition, a fine textbook example of the type 1 chained SS. The dagger retains the black ebony grip (two quite large chips, one obverse bottom, one reverse top) with the aluminium eagle/swastika motif, and a nice originally wrapped silver aluminium portopee. It is interesting to note the particularly highset Runes eye. The unmarked blade has survived in excellent overall condition, nice and bright and free from any bad areas of greying.  The dagger has the typical type 1 nickel-silver plated chains with the nicely impressed Runes with octagon to the  reverse. The black anodised scabbard remains near perfect, with 95% anodised finish remaining. The bottom ball also remains perfect. The nickle-silver plated fittings have survived in overall very good condition (the chains and centre band showing age darkening). Detail to the links is superb. This dagger was given by the Danish Chief of the Hilfspolizei to Hans Jensen, a registered member of the Danish Freedom Fighters in 1945. The dagger has remained completely untouched since that time, and is now being sold by us on behalf of the family.

The dagger retains a fine black ebony grip in perfect condition with the early nickel-silver eagle/swastika motif, and a nice originally wrapped silver aluminium portopee. The unmarked blade has survived in excellent overall condition, nice and bright and with much original crossgrain present.  The dagger has the typical 'Type 2' solid nickel-silver chains with the finely impressed Runes with octagon to the  reverse. The typical black painted scabbard survives in overall excellent condition with 90% finish remaining (close scrutiny will reveal light spidering caused by age). All the solid nickle-silver fittings have survived in excellent condition, and the detail to the links is superb with much of the anodised darkening still present. Even the bottom ball remains in close to perfect condition. This dagger would rank as one of the best 'Type 2' SS chained daggers available today.

SS 1933 pattern dagger by Herder Solingen and complete with original vertical hanger

Price: SOLD

Nice untouched examples of the 1933 pattern SS dagger are in extremely short supply at the moment. This example manufactured by Richard Herder, Solingen, is exactly that...a beautiful untouched dagger complete with its original 1934 dated leather vertical hanger and 'D' loop for belt attachment. The black ebony grip is free from any cracks or splits and remains perfectly fitted to the nickel-silver upper and lower cross guards (this is actually one of the nicest fitting daggers you will find). The lower crossguard bears a stamped 'I' and the blade retains most polish and crossgrain (free from any unslighlty pitting or ugly blemishes). The motto is clear but typically has lost the original blacking from inside the lettering, and the maker logo is also clear and sharp. The scabbard is anodised and retains approximately 80/90% black anodised finish overall. At the top area (protected by the vertical hanger) the scabbard still retains 100% laquer as well, which extends down just under the leather loop. The bottom mount has a dented bottom ball, so typical of 1933 pattern daggers carried on a vertical hanger assembly. The black leather vertical hanger remains in good supple condition and is complete with a nickel-silver DRGM stamped spring clip.
