An early production Luftwaffe Observer timepiece by Lange & Söhne  on original strap

Price: £6,750

This particular Luftwaffe observer timepiece has survived in excellent to near mint condition. The dial, case and movement are in excellent condition (the movement with fine goose kneck regulation) . In fact the case has much of its original laquer finish still remaining. Caseback bears the full Lange manufacturer details, and the case side has the typical 'FL 23883' number.  The original brown leather buckled strap shows wear, but is in overall very good condition. The watch glass has a little crack to one side, along with a few scratches (it is the original glass which came with the watch), the glass could be replaced if one so wished, that is obviously the buyer's perogative. The watch was apparently overhauled by Lange themselves back in the late 1990s, however, no paperwork comes with the piece. When we had the watch running, it was functioning perfectly (however, that does not imply or warrant a guarantee of such). A particularly rare lange manufactured timepiece.

Luftwaffe 'Grosse' Pilots wristwatch first quality by Lemania

Price: SOLD

Unarguably the rarest of all Luftwaffe aviators wristwatches, the so-called 'Grosse pilot' timepiece, a collectors name brought about by the oversize black dial (dial size is a huge 40mm diameter). Manufactured by the premier Swiss company Lemania, this timepiece employs a scarce single button chronograph system. The milled rotating bezel has a red time marker which sits inside the glass. This timepiece is in fully working order and still retains its original wartime leather strap.

Luftwaffe Pilots Lemania double button chronograph timepiece issued to Jagdgeschwader '104'

Price: £3,250

This rare Lemania double button pilots chronograph dates to the early 1940s, and would have been used from approximately 1941 - 1945. The black dial has the standard diameter of 30mm and has two registers for 60 seconds and 30 minutes, along with outer telemetre scale, and inner base scale. The original black dial survives in excellent condition, and the watch retains the original luminous material to the numbers and the hands. The typical screw on case back has the squadron details '1./JG 104', along with the issue number, there are also engraved initials (now very faint). The movement is in beautiful condition with 100% mercuric gilt bridges remaining. Jagdgeschwader 104 operated as a fighter training squadron. Complete with a later black leather military style strap.

Extremely rare Kriegsmarine Lange & Söhne Observer quality gimballed and cased 8 day timepiece circ: 1943

Price: SOLD

Extremely rare example of the Lange & Söhne Observer quality 8 day timepiece. Only one of these timepieces would be aboard a large vessel, such as a destroyer, whilst there could be more than 10 Kieninger & Obergfell ships clocks in various locations on the ship. In fact it would be the Lange & Söhne Observer timepiece, which was used to set the time of all other clocks aboard the ship. The timepiece is housed in its typical bakalite housing with the eagle/swastika and M number, along with the Lange & Söhne serial number 5290. The complete timepiece is retained within its correct oak case with full gimballing and setting key, the case bearing a Lange & Söhne plaque with the corresponding number 5290. The entire timepiece has survived in near mint condition, has just been fully overhauled and provides incredible accuracy of about +/- 1 second a week. A truly beautiful example of German watch making skills by the premier firm of Lange & Söhne.

Kriegsmarine Kieninger & Obergfell ships clock

Price: SOLD

An excellent working example of the Kieninger & Obergfell black painted brass ships clock. Case is in excellent condition as is the silvered dial. The clock is working and bears the eagle/swastika marking to the dial along with the serial number. A further ships number '77' has also been engraved to the dial. This clock is particularly interesting since it had silence zones applied at one time, the shadows of the silence zones can still be clearly seen. It might be possible to research the history of this clock further.

Kriegsmarine Kieninger & Obergfell ships clock

Price: £2250

An excellent working example of the Kieninger & Obergfell brass ships clock. Case and dial in good to excellent condition. The clock is working and bears the eagle/swastika marking to the dial, interestingly this particular clock is void of the usual serial number. To date it is not known exactly why some of these clocks do not have serial numbers. Possibly they were used in a staff headquarters context. It is very rare to encounter an example of these clocks without the serial number, which supports further the theory they were employed within headquarters.
